The Taliban takes over Afghanistan as thousands are fleeing for their lives.

On July 8, Biden announced that the departure of the U.S. military from Afghanistan would happen on August 31st, claiming that the United States can no longer afford sending more troops, risking their lives, and that Afghan leaders must come together to make an agreement.

After Biden gave his announcement, he answered questions from reporters, saying that Kabul falling to the Taliban would not be acceptable, and pushed back against the idea that such event would happen.

“Do I trust the Taliban? No,” Biden said. “But I trust the capacity of the Afghan military, who is better trained, better equipped and more competent in terms of conducting war.”

Fast forwarding to a few weeks later, the same scenario Biden denied would ever happen, took effect overnight.

In this past weekend, the Middle-Eastern country of Afghanistan was taken over in a matter of hours by the radical Islamic terrorist group, the Taliban.

This occured as Biden was on ‘vacation’ at Camp David.

It’s clear that this Administration did not plan for this departure to be done in an orderly fashion.

As a matter of fact, it is highly suspectable that the Biden Administration planned for this departure to be in the worst way possible.

It is now safe to say, that this departure could not have been worse, as thousands of Afghans and Americans are fleeing for their very lives, knowing that the country they are in is not safe anymore.

Thousands of Afghans are desperately fleeing into the Kabul International Airport.

A C-17 Hercules from the U.S. Air Force was charging down the tarmac as hundreds were running against it, some even trying to grasp onto the plane.

Two of them fell in midair as the plane took off from the airport, heading towards Qatar.

The Taliban took over the government, forcing the President of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani to escape.

The U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan fell into the hands of the Taliban, forcing the ambasssador to escape and the American flag taken down.

Tens of thousands of Americans and Afghan allies are desperate for safety and are clueless as the U.S government does not have any clear directions for them.

Biden made an announcement at The White House, after spending the weekend at Camp David, justifying this move while noting that “this did unfold more quickly than we had anticipated”, but also blaming the Trump Administration’s diplomatic deal with the Taliban.

After the announcement, Biden went back again at Camp David.

Whatever Biden may say, the people of Afghanistan are now the victims, and are seeing their basic human rights to have a decent life, taken hostage from Islamic Radicals. They are now facing the return of the days when the Taliban ruled their country and women and girls were treated as slaves.

All of the 20 years the United States invested in millions of dollars, the years of grief and suffering, the lives lost fighting against terrorism, now just completely wasted as the Taliban got back their powers.

Now, the Taliban are as stong as ever, taking over the Afghan government, taking over the U.S. Embassy, but also having access to U.S. military aircraft and weaponry.

The Defense Department cannot confirm how many of those aircraft have been captured by the Taliban, how many are operable and if there are being flown to safe areas.

Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin responded in a press conference that the U.S does not have the capability to collect a large number of people.

General Mark Milley responded that there were no indicators in the last 11 days that such event would happen.

The Taliban reigning over Afghanistan leaves the United States at geopolitical odds, as they will likely make deals with China, Iran, and other foes.

History will determine whether if this departure has become by far, the greatest failure of U.S. foreign policy.
